Taormina tumbles down the side of Mount Tauro, its buildings seemingly lost amid a sea of flowers. There is a fine old Duomo and other interesting sights include the ancient Odeon and the archaeological museum. The pedestrianised main street of Corso Umberto I offers a hundred opportunities to stop and shop, to enjoy a caffe or a gelato from the pretty little cafes.
