This comfortable three-star hotel in Genoa province is located in an idyllic country setting not far from the little town of Borzonasca. Not far away is the beautiful Italian Riviera coastline and the famous Gulf of Tigullio with its delightful resorts of Portofino, Santa Margarita and Rapallo, and the provincial capital; Genoa with its attractive port and imposing 19th-century town centre, is also nearby. Hotel U Rustegu is set in its own large private grounds with plenty of parking space for guests; there is also a lovely open-air swimming pool and a small, private beach, both of which are ideal for secluded tranquil sunbathing in a beautiful natural setting. Nearby is a large, well-stocked trout lake where guests can hone their fishing skills, and the hotel also has a well-equipped children's playground.

There are just 12 attractively presented guest rooms here, all with direct-dial telephone, colour television and en-suite bathroom facilities. All rooms are accessible by lift/elevator and a buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. An impressive restaurant seats up to 280 guests, and is very popular locally for weddings and birthdays. The menu here includes traditional Genovese specialities such as pappardelle pasta with local ceps and home-made trofie with pesto. The hotel also has a welcoming lounge/bar with an extensive selection of drinks on offer.

The hotel is open all year round and activities such as guided hiking/rambling tours, canoeing, mountain biking and fishing are available in summer, while cross-country skiing is available here in winter. There are meeting facilities here for business clients and there is friendly, efficient 24-hour service on the front desk, where guests can find facilities such as tourist information and a left-luggage room. Quiet, well-behaved pets are welcome in the hotel.
