This delightful little three-star hotel in Piedmont is set on a little island - Fisherman's Island or Isla Pescatore - on Lake Maggiore, just a short boat ride from the lively resort of Stresa. The Hotel Verbano has award-winning food, welcoming staff and prettily decorated rooms, and the location is truly magical. There are just 12 rooms at this hotel on Lake Maggiore, each one given the name of a flower and decorated accordingly. Many of the rooms have their own private balcony and all have bathrooms, direct dial telephone and a small work desk; bathrooms are fitted with hairdryers and guests are provided with complimentary bathrobes. A delicious buffet breakfast is included in the room rate and this may be taken either down on the scenic sun terrace or in the privacy of your room. Children are welcome here and there is a babysitting/childminding service, allowing parents the chance for a quiet evening meal or an unhurried stroll along the beach.
