Hotel Villa Azalee, Florence

A marvellous historic hotel in Florence, the Hotel Villa Azalee was originally a private villa, and lies just five minutes from the central railway station.

This quite unique hotel is managed by the owner, who has restructured the old house, creating a 'dependence' and a large garden. There are 25 rooms in total, 17 in the villa, another eight in the dependence. All have been decorated in the traditional Florentine style: the fine fabrics and original furnishings evoke the atmosphere of a grand Florentine villa.

This hotel in Italy is a lovely mix of modern and traditional. Beautifully set in its shaded garden, the Hotel Villa Azalee has state-of-the-art comforts. Rooms are air conditioned, they have a private bath and/or shower, heated towel rails, hairdryer, phone, satellite TV and minibar. Common areas on the ground floor include the bar, lounge, entrance hall and private garden. You'll be well looked after during your stay in Florence too. There is car parking near the hotel (and valet parking to make things a little easier); there are bicycles for hire (a much more relaxing way to explore the city); and each morning you'll enjoy an American-style buffet breakfast.

This then is a relaxing oasis in the heart of the city, and yet all the benefits of the city are close by. You can walk from here to Santa Maria Novella railway station, to the Congress Palace and the Opera House. The River Arno is just a short stroll away.
