The evidence is there in the Poggino necropolis and the Montecalvario Mound, with its four sixth century BC tombs. See too the Via delle Volte underground tunnel, the Palazzo Ugolini-Squarcialupi and the Palazzo Bianciardi. And the Rocca (castle) is a remnant of the town's huge strategic importance in the Middle Ages, with its huge 14th century tower and Etruscan museum.
