This unusual four-star hotel in Piedmont is located in a romantic, secluded spot on the shores of Lake Orta. Built in a distinctive Moorish style in the late 19th century, the building is dominated by a tall minaret capped with an elegant dome. It is surrounded by pretty wooded gardens which slope down to the lakeside and lies just 50 kilometres from Milan's Malpensa international airport. Rooms have high ceilings and are decorated in palatial style with chandeliers and elaborate architectural detail reflecting the splendour and luxury of a bygone age.

There are just 14 exquisite rooms at the Hotel Villa Crespi, Orta S. Giulio - six doubles and eight luxurious suites - all furnished with comfortable canopy beds and tasteful antique furniture from the 18th and 19th century. Bathrooms are marble-clad and fitted with a relaxing hydromassage bath or shower, a hairdryer and a high-quality range of toiletries. Rooms are equipped with direct-dial telephone with fax facility, cable/satellite TV, a well-stocked minibar and a personal safe.
