This Lipari hotel is situated just outside the main town on this Sicilian island. Lipari is the largest of the seven Aeolian Islands in the Tyrrhenian Sea, off the coast of northern Sicily. The island is thought to have been created as a result of four main volcanic eruptions, and volcanic rocks including obsidian and pumice can be found in abundance here. Lipari is also the name of the main town, and the island's fascinating history can be explored through Norman cathedral, its selection of museums and the island's crowning glory ' the Greek acropolis upon which the Spanish built a new fortress in 1556. Lipari can also boast several excellent beaches.

With just 12 neatly decorated rooms, you'll feel more like a family friend than a paying guest when staying here. Each bedroom is equipped with air conditioning, safety deposit box and private bathroom facilities, and filled with pretty wrought iron traditional furniture. This hotel on Lipari has gardens which are truly magnificent considering the hotel's modest size. Each of the bedrooms looks out onto the terraces and citrus and olive filled gardens, and there is also a tennis court and bowling green at guests' disposal. Families are very welcome at this warm and relaxed establishment, and there is plenty of outdoor space for the kids to burn off excess energy while their parents enjoy a well-earned glass of the local Malvasia wine on the sun terrace.
