This Lipari hotel is situated just outside the main town on this Sicilian island. Lipari is the largest of the seven Aeolian Islands in the Tyrrhenian Sea, off the coast of northern Sicily. The island is thought to have been created as a result of four main volcanic eruptions, and volcanic rocks including obsidian and pumice can be found in abundance here. Lipari is also the name of the main town, and the island's fascinating history can be explored through Norman cathedral, its selection of museums and the island's crowning glory ' the Greek acropolis upon which the Spanish built a new fortress in 1556. Lipari can also boast several excellent beaches.
