Just five minutes out of the centre of Taormina, the Hotel Villa Fabbiano (formerly known as the Hotel Villa Carlotta) dates from 1896. Recently restored, it combines warm Sicilian hospitality with updated facilities, charm and elegance.

This Sicilian hotel has superb views out over the blue waters of the Mediterranean and to Mount Etna. There are 27 elegant rooms and suites, many with sea views. There is a lovely Mediterranean garden with a swimming pool, a free internet point and an American bar. Rooms are a choice of doubles, twins and suites, all with private en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, direct phone, minibar and TV. Breakfast is provided. The suites boast extra facilities, including a desk and lamp and direct modem link. The hotel has a restaurant and lounge bar, there is parking for guests (valet parking too) and transfers can be arranged to the airport. As well as the superb beaches in the area (with the funicular running from old Taormina down to the bay) there is superb countryside around here, and hikers have some great routes to explore.
