Hotel Villa Hibiscus, Ischia
Surrounded by pines, eucalyptus trees and poplars and set in extensive grounds, the Hotel Villa Hibiscus enjoys a truly unique setting. It is situated 500 metres from the centre of Forio, a town on Ischia that is overlooked by the island's highest point - the dormant volcano Mount Epomeo. Famous past visitors to Forio include English poet WH Auden, who first visited it in 1948 and called it 'one of the loveliest spots on earth' and American author Truman Capote who was so inspired by the place that he wrote about it in one of his books.
Forio is renowned for its beaches, and is also the location of one of Ischia's most beautiful attractions, the La Mortella garden created for composer William Walton by gardener Russell Page. Originally a bare plot of land, the garden is now a verdant collection of hundreds of rare exotic plants and has great views over Forio. There is also a museum dedicated to Walton.
Each of the 60 rooms in this three-star Ischia hotel includes a television, direct-dial telephone, bathroom, hairdryer, private balcony, safe and internet connection. Air conditioning and satellite TV are available on request. For your convenience, valet parking and staff are on duty round the clock to help with any requirements you may have, leaving you to enjoy your holiday without hassle. Attractions include the inviting indoor, and (heated) outdoor pools, and the restaurant, where you can choose from local, national and international cooking. This hotel also provides free transport to the spa.
