The house is part of a restored 'borgo' or village, from the late 18th century, which has been carefully renovated to marry every modern comfort with its unspoiled traditional style.

The complex includes a restored farmhouse, with cosy and inviting apartments and rooms - each named after a famous Tuscan artist. The location is perfect for making the most of Tuscany, with Arezzo just 15km from here, Florence 40km and Siena 45km. The estate sits within lush gardens, with an open-air pool and superb panoramic view of the Valdarno (Arno Valley) and the hills of Chianti. There is terrific walking around here, up to lovely medieval hill village, monasteries and churches. And of course there is the wine of Chianti, with tastings at local wineries.

Nearby Arezzo is a hill town dating back more than 2000 years, with a medieval centre and an essential visit to see the Piero della Francesca fresco cycle at the Basilica. Florence has innumerable must-sees, including the Ponte Vecchio, the superb Duomo of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Campanile and Baptistery. Siena, meanwhile, has a remarkable Duomo in black and white stone, one of the greats of Italian Romanesque architecture.
