Hotel Villa Romeo, Catania

This elegant hotel is housed in a refurbished 19th century palace, which is reflected in the architecture and decoration, but not in the modern facilities. For business visitors the hotel is in an excellent location: steps away from the railway and bus stations, and just three kilometres from Catania's airport.

Catania is a great place to spend a memorable holiday due to its history of surviving seven eruptions by Mount Etna and being home to some of Sicily's most architecturally beautiful buildings. The churches and cathedral are all decorated with exquisite baroque style statues and ornaments, an opulence adopted almost in defiance of the nearby volcano.

Mount Etna is Europe's largest active volcano and provides the backdrop for abundant activities in its national parkland. You can go for hikes, mountain biking, drive off-road and the more adventurous can even go rock climbing on the cliffs. In the winter the mountain's peaks freeze to snow and open for ski season.

The Hotel Villa Romeo prides itself on its 19th century foundations, with all 25 rooms furnished and decorated to reflect a 19th century style. The rooms do, however, provide modern comfort and facilities such as plasma TVs with satellite channels, soundproofed walls and WiFi access to the internet.

The hotel also has plenty of space for relaxing with an inner courtyard garden area and private terrace for enjoying a drink from the bar. The Hotel Villa Romeo provides modern accommodation in a delightful setting, with close access to transport for getting around Catania or visiting Mount Etna.
