This inviting three-star hotel in Merano is housed in an attractive historic building dating from the Art Nouveau or Liberty period, set amid beautifully landscaped gardens in a quiet part of this charming city. Hotel Westend has a fascinating history: originally built as a prestigious family villa in 1890 by a well-known local architect, it was visualised as one of Merano's most beautiful buildings. Famous guests have stayed here over the years, including the German poet Gottfried Benn, who wrote many letters and poems to his friends and family during his stay here. Guests frequently remark on the cosy, relaxing atmosphere here, the spacious airy guestrooms, the delicious home cooking and the attentive service of the personable staff.

Hotel Westend has 21 generously-proportioned en-suite rooms, all with bath or shower, WC, bidet and a fitted hairdryer.
