This very pleasant little B&B-style hotel in Genoa province is idyllically located in Sestri Levante, which lies just north of the Cinque Terre with views out across the Mediterranean. This wonderful part of Liguria is full of history and natural beauty, with its rugged, tree-lined coastline dotted with charming fishing ports and laid-back Italian seaside towns, while the cosmopolitan city of Genoa is within easy reach for a day trip or excursion. The hotel is set within a lush green park - the Parco de Promontori - a short distance from the sea, and nothing is too much trouble for the owners, Barbara and Marcello, to ensure a relaxing, hassle-free holiday.

There are just five cosy little guest rooms here, all with en-suite shower facilities, direct-dial telephone, cable/satellite television, a fitted hairdryer and a personal safe. A simple continental-style breakfast is included in the room rate and there is a reduced rate for children under the age of ten. Each room is decorated individually with a charming maritime theme.

Marcello and Barbara offer guests half or full board, and the restaurant here serves traditional cuisine of the region featuring local seasonal produce - particularly freshly caught fish - and delicious home cooking. There is plenty of parking for hotel guests and the hotel also has a comfortable sun terrace, an internet point and mountain-bike hire. Courses run throughout the year where guests can learn traditional Ligurian cooking or try wine tasting or fishing. Staff are friendly and approachable and there are left-luggage and safety-deposit facilities on the front desk.
