Locanda del Ghetto, Venice

This hotel in Venice (Venezia) is located in the Cannaregio district, one of the six traditional areas or sestieri into which the city is divided. One of few hotels in the Ghetto area of the city, guests have the chance to see one of the most characteristic and authentic areas of the old town. The hotel is within walking distance of the major synagogues and the Jewish museum and is also close to the Rio Tera san Leonardo, one of the most popular walks within Venice. There are many restaurants and cafes close by too, with the Calle Delle Misericordia offering many trattorias frequented by locals and tourists alike.

The Locanda Del Ghetto is an original 15th century building that has been fully renovated and was only opened as a hotel in December 2001, with redecoration work finished in 2002. The characteristic old building now boasts an internet centre for the use of all guests, an elevator/lift and a private boat landing. Guests can enjoy a drink on the outdoor patio and breakfast is served in the hotel each morning, with the opportunity to dine outside in the summer months. The hotel's landing stage means you can always pick up a water taxi, and the bar and reception are decorated with traditional beams and hearths from the 15th century. This is a marvellously romantic place to stay in this very romantic city.

Each of the nine three-star rooms is decorated in a typical Venetian style and some have balconies overlooking the peaceful Campo Del Ghetto, the small square at the front of the hotel. Although great efforts have been made to retain the old world charm of the hotel, guests also have access to all modern conveniences including internet access and cable/Sky television available in all of the rooms. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom, with bath, shower and toilet.
