Situated in the heart of Portoscuso, a picturesque resort on the southwestern coast of Sardinia, it lies opposite the islands of San Pietro and Sant'Antioco. The resort's main attraction is the fishing port which bustles with life during the "tonnara" or tuna-fishing season. Fisherman have been plying the waters for this delicious catch for hundreds of years and in many ways the industry has changed very little through the centuries. The area has several beautiful sandy beaches backed by romantic cliffs along the coastline and excursions are available to Carloforte and the archaeological sites in nearby Sirai and Sant'Antioco as well as the other islands.
