A modern three-star hotel just out of the 'centro storico' of Reggio Emilia, the Park Hotel lies on the Via Guido De Ruggiero, in an exclusive residential area of this lovely little north Italian city. This Reggio hotel is furnished and decorated in the English style - comfortable, tranquil, with a good restaurant, two bars and meeting rooms with projector and big screen. There are lounges and private off-road parking, and an open air, kidney shaped swimming pool with solarium.

Rooms are double or twin, single use of double, or triple. All have bathroom with shower, air conditioning, minibar, phone, TV and balcony. The front desk can organise room service, currency exchange, laundry and you can take breakfast in your room.

Quiet and with friendly staff, this is a most relaxing base and you are just a mile outside the historic downtown of Reggio Emilia itself. This pleasant little Emilia-Romagna city grew up nearly 2000 years ago along the new Roman road of the Via Emilia, which bisected Italy from Rimini on the Adriatic east coast to Piacenza in the north. The line of the old road is still there today, and it runs right through the heart of Reggio, linking the cities of Bologna and Modena.

The city has much of its historical legacy intact, particularly from the Middle Ages and after. The defensive walls were dismantled at the end of the 19th century to allow the town to grow, but the medieval street grid is still there, and Reggio has a fine old town, with cobbled streets and much of it pedestrianised. Sights include the Basilica di San Prospero, the cathedral, the Galleria Parmeggiani and baroque churches, including the Basilica della Ghiara and Christ's Oratory. And, being Emilia-Romagna, there are some superb restaurants.
