Originally a monastery called the "Convento dei Tre Mori", the Minotel Piccolo Hotel Il Palio is a marvellous old building dating from the fifteenth century, and lies in the 'centro storico' of Siena. And despite lying just a short distance from the Piazza del Campo, and the architecturally unique Duomo (cathedral), the hotel is easy to reach by car. There is a large parking area nearby. The hotel is perfect for families, with a family room and indoor play areas.

It is here that the extraordinary Palio bareback horse races are run every summer, and it is here that the Sienese gather each evening to drink coffee, take a glass of wine and talk about the day.
