This characterful hotel in Verona is located in a quiet side street in the historic city centre/downtown area, very close to the ancient Roman Amphitheatre and just ten minutes from the International Trade Fair building. Housed in a lovely medieval building, the Residence Antico San Zeno, Verona has been carefully restored and renovated into what is now an atmospheric and very comfortable four-star hotel offering self-catering accommodation. Immortalised by William Shakespeare, the laid-back city of Verona has much of the charm of its more famous sister city, Venice, but without the crowds. It has a wealth of gorgeous architecture dating from Roman times with the impressive Arena where opera is performed to this day, as well as streets of charming medieval houses and fine Renaissance palaces. There are plenty of lovely restaurants here, too, and Verona is a major centre for Italian wines - Italy's famed wine fair, Vinitaly, is held here each year in April, when there are plenty of opportunities to taste some delicious vintages.
