Rubner's Hotel Rudolf, Brunico

This welcoming four-star hotel and spa in Trentino-Alto Adige is located in a popular skiing area close to the town of Brunico/Bruneck. Built in traditional Alpine style, the atmosphere of the Rubner's Hotel Rudolf is a clever blend of traditional charm and modern-day comfort. The hotel is surrounded by some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the region, in both summer and winter. Outdoor sports include mountain biking, cross country skiing, hiking and climbing. One of Italy's best known skiing areas, the Plan de Corones, is nearby, with its state-of-the-art network of ski lifts and runs to suit every level of skier.

Hotel Rudolf has 34 attractively presented rooms, each carefully furnished with quality textiles and soft, restful colours. Bathrooms are spacious and feature both bath and shower as well as a fitted hairdryer, complimentary bathrobes, shower gel and shampoo. Rooms feature cable/satellite television, a handy radio alarm, a personal safe and a refrigerated minibar stocked with drinks and snacks. A buffet breakfast is included in the room rate.

The Rudolf has an excellent restaurant offering typical specialities from the Trentino-Alto Adige region, such as canederli (potato dumplings) and veal with tuna sauce, as well as delicious Mediterranean dishes and other Italian fare. Home-made cakes, pastries and savouries are available after a day's skiing, and are served in the comfortable Stube room; dishes designed for guests with particular dietary requirements are also available. The bar stays open until 11pm serving drinks and cheeses before a roaring log fire.

There is friendly, attentive service on the reception desk, where guests can access details of activities and excursions. The wide selection of facilities on offer here includes a nine-hole golf course, a fully equipped gymnasium, a swimming pool and an internet point. There are also left luggage and storage facilities and parking is free in the large hotel car park. Well-behaved pets are welcome to join their owners here.
